IS SATAN REAL?

Very often my students and clients ask me this question.
Historically speaking most, if not all, Devils of the Old Testament are the Gods of the Civilizations that kept Jews in slavery. Astaroth was the Goddess Astarte, Belzebu was God Baal etc etc
In my personal vision and experience, evil forces doesn’t exist except for evil living persons. Surely, we can find opponents, forces, beings enemies to mankind.
Yorubans called them Ibis or Osogbos.
They aren’t malignant beings per se but just forces that predates humans.
A man eater beast isn’t evil, just dangerous. A surgeon fights illnesses all day trying to cure people.
Does a Doctor consider them satanic forces?
The Oddun of Ifa Ojuanichobe teaches that negative forces are part of the Creation and are even teachers of men in someways. The Oddun Ogbefun speaks about the seven Wifes of King Ire’ and how Osogbos made Ebbo or sacrifices to assure to themselves long life and prosperity. Curious uh?
In Tibetan Buddhism, a Lama following the teachings of Guru Rimpoche tries to negotiate the negative forces feeding them and dealing with them to leave the person free and telling the people the reason WHY a particular problem arouse.
It happens in almost every primitive or shamanic tradition I am aware of.
Understanding reality, its rules, even in negatives aspects means knowledge and experience and we exist to live and have experiences. Surely, some traumas are worse than others and need special care but, as always, there’s a solution for every problem. In any case, We need to die sooner or later so don’t worry too much 🙂
