Almost every Vodou Loa has a lover.
Their stories are different from Temple to Temple and place.
In the Caribbean, people talks about their Deities often in a very familiar way.
Like for old Classic Greeks Gods, there are complex structures, families, loves and hates. It is very interesting to see how Priests solve the conflicts of Spirits, of people, social levels and attitudes. How they manage the Sacred spaces and honor different Gods and Goddeses in a peaceful environment creating an atmosphere of Holiness despite the terrible economic conditions and the daily eternal desperate battle to survive.
When life can be all about struggle, most people answer with a smile and give a hand unto each other.
There’s a lot to learn from people that lives their lives with faith and a holy presence I’ve never seen so strong elsewhere…God bless the Caribbean and its people always!
